judy just wanted some male figure to base her life around since her father wouldn't bond with her.
Plato is afraid of the lights because he's a pansy. No just kidding. He's afraid of the lights because he didn't want to be seen in the condition that he was in..or maybe some other reason, maybe he was just dead in the head. |

| there was a very vague reason why plato died. I think that he had to be kind of a "sacrificial lamb" in order for Jim's dad to realize how to be a true father. Or something like that, the movie doesn't explain it well |

| Think about how different the movie would have been if Plato survived, also, if you were freaking out like that you probably wouldn't like large search lights shone in your face. |
